Exploring the Viral Snack Craze in Bandung: Trying Out 'Cipuk

Last week, my friends and I had a staycation in Bandung. One of the food stalls I was planning to visit was "Gerobak Kuliner Cipuk Zam Zam." This fried snack is currently trending on TikTok. Its name is Cipung, not Ciluk, definitely not Cipuk.

Cipuk is Cireng Krupuk (a type of snack). According to information from my friend, only "Gerobak Kuliner Cipuk Zam Zam" in Bandung sells Cipuk snacks (although this information isn't confirmed). But if this food were available in Jakarta, it would probably be as popular as Tahu Bulat (a well-known snack).

  

The taste is crispy and chewy when you take a bite. If you've ever had Cireng before, well, the chewiness is similar to regular Cireng, and the crispiness comes from the krupuk flavor.

You can buy it for IDR 10,000 (you can mix it with various other fried snacks). As for the seasonings, they offer sweet and spicy, bbq, and cheese flavors. My suggestion is to try them all mixed together.

 

At "Gerobak Kuliner Cipuk Zam Zam," they don't just sell Cipuk; they also have Basgor, Basmut, Sotong, and Tahu Bulat.

And the most interesting part is that this is the first time I've found a street food vendor with such creatively designed packaging!

The sellers are also very friendly, so if you happen to visit Bandung, don't forget to stop by and give this a try!

• IDR 5.000 = Basgor (Bakso Goreng)

Note : You can purchase a variety of fried snacks for IDR 10,000.
